Qinyou Hu

Biography

Qinyou Hu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Visiting Researcher at Aalto University. Her research in applied microeconomics spans health, labor, development, and education economics, with a focus on mental health and adolescent well-being, diffusion of medical innovations, and family and peer spillovers in health-related behaviors and outcomes. She uses randomized field experiments and quasi-experimental designs, combined with administrative and survey data, to evaluate policy-relevant interventions and understand underlying mechanisms. Current projects include bullying and empathy formation, mental health and family spillovers, and early-childhood skill formation.
