Julia Witt

Biography

Julia Witt is Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Manitoba; her area of research is Health Economics.  Prior to this appointment, she was a Research Fellow in Health Economics at the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research.  Her current projects include research on the health workforce, rural health, the use of stated preferences for policy-making in health, and genetic testing.  Her work focuses on developing new models for accessible and equitable healthcare in rural Canada; investigating the effect of preference biases within and across different stated preference techniques on policy uptake; and the effects of increasing availability of genetic information on individuals and markets.
