Alexei Botchkarev

Biography

Dr. Botchkarev is a Senior Information Management Advisor with the Health Data Branch, Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care and an Adjunct Professor with the Computer Science Department at Ryerson University. He holds B.Eng. five-year degree from the Kiev Aviation Engineering Academy, Ukraine (1975) and Ph.D. from the aerospace R&D Institute, Russia (1985). Alexei is a Fellow of The Operational Research Society (FORS) and a Fellow of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET).

Alexei is a public service practitioner, consultant and researcher. Results of his research are published in more than 70 journal papers, professional magazine articles, technical reports and chapters in three books (www.gsrc.ca).

His research interests are in the application of the operations research, advanced quantitative analytics, econometrics to investigating complex systems, data sets and processes for the advancement of the health care system and informing health policy through empirical evidence. Current research focuses on the areas of applied econometrics, health economics and computational econometrics.
